The Memphis Vive Opening was quite the FIESTA!
A great time was had by all at the Memphis Vive Opening at Art After Dark Thursday, July 19! The Memphis Vive artists were here with their families and friends to celebrate the exhibition that highlights Latino artists in Memphis!
Guests danced the night away with Los Cantadores and ate delicious Latin inspired foods! We haven’t had that much dancing at Art After Dark in quite some time. Dixon visitors definitely let their hair down and made this a very entertaining night!
Curator Of Education, Margarita Sandino, gave 3 tours for visitors who wanted to learn more about the artwork on display! Originally only one tour was to be given, but to avoid crowding in the galleries with the large number of guests Margarita led 2 more for everyone to be comfortable and learn in a more controlled environment.
We aren’t done with Memphis Vive yet! Join us on August 11 at 11am for a FREE theater and musical performance with a Latin twist featuring Caza Teatro and Marcela Pinilla. Bring the family for a bilingual play that explores friendship and team work through the beloved story of the three little pigs. Then stay and enjoy the Latin- jazz songstress. Art activities and snacks will be offered!
