1.       What’s your job title?

Preparator/Weekend Manager on Duty

2.       Favorite Dixon exhibition so far?

Picturing America.  Seeing this historically significant collection of works by major American talents is a thrill.  Also, Jim Buchman’s sculpture show was really impressive.

3.       Favorite plant/flower in the gardens?

There is a big, gnarly old Tulip Poplar that stands across from the southern end of the Formal Gardens’ footpath.  It looks like it could tell some stories.  I also like the Kousa Dogwoods, Umbrella Magnolias, the Hydrangeas and pretty much whatever is in the cutting garden at any time.

4.       Favorite Memphis restaurant?

Sweet Grass and Sweet Grass Next Door.  Chef Ryan Trimm is a good friend and an incredibly talented man.  He sources the freshest, local ingredients and always creates amazing menus.  Plus, his weekend brunch is fantastic and he serves the best Bloody Mary in town.

5.       Tigers or Grizzlies?

Can I say both?  I grew up in a home of rabid Tiger fans and that won’t change, but I’ve been so proud to see the Grizzlies evolve into a successful organization  that brings people together and does a lot for the community.

6.       What’s something people might be surprised to know about you?

On my 28th birthday I went skydiving from 13,000 feet.  A few years ago I repelled down the side of White Station Tower to benefit Special Olympics.  Sometimes when working on lighting the galleries I get nervous on the ladder.
