Meet the Dixon Staff 2013: Sarah Schiavoni
1. What’s your job title?
2. Favorite Dixon exhibition so far?
Present Tense: Memphis Artists of the Future Juried Student Show. I was amazed at the talent of the students and I love that we like to show off local artists.
3. Favorite plant/flower in the gardens?
It’s hard to pick just one, but I love our variety of lilies.
4. Favorite Memphis restaurant?
Hog & Hominy—their beef and cheddar hotdog on a pretzel bun puts your everyday hotdog to shame (and for dessert, cupcakes from Muddy’s of course!).
5. Tigers or Grizzlies?
Pittsburgh Penguins. I haven’t lived in Memphis long enough to pick a side. 😀
6. What’s something people might be surprised to know about you?
I love to cook and I really enjoy trying new and bizarre foods—while in Scotland this past September, I fell in love with haggis (a mixture of minced sheep innards, onion, and spices) and blood sausage (a sausage of sorts made with cooked blood, barley, and oatmeal).
